Hinsdale
Seventh-day Adventist Church is a place of worship. We are
pleased to make our facility available for your wedding. We
request that you be reverent and respectful of our buildings
and grounds as you prepare for this very special sacred event
in your lives.
Wedding Application
Application and permission for use of the church facilities
are handled through the Church Office. Call (630) 323-0182.
A wedding
date is considered confirmed upon approval of the Office
Administrator, receipt of a fully completed application and
deposit. In case of cancellation, all but $35 will be
refunded.
All fees
must be submitted at least six weeks in advance of the
wedding date. Deposit will be held until after the wedding.
Final fees will be determined and deposit will be applied to
any overtime charges or damages. Any unused portion will be
refunded along with an expense summary.
Wedding Requirements
The couple being married must either be both members of a
Seventh-day Adventist church or both non-members.
The
couple must have pre-marital counseling. If the officiating
minister is not part of the Hinsdale Adventist Church's pastoral staff, then a
letter must be provided stating that the couple has completed
the counseling. This letter needs to be provided no later than
14 days prior to the wedding date.
Any
Seventh-day Adventist pastor may perform the wedding.
A
minister of another denomination may perform the wedding in
our church provided they are approved by the church board,
prior to the confirmation of the wedding date. The minister
shall perform the wedding according to the practices of the
Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is understood that the
minister will work in cooperation with the church office and
the pastoral staff.
All
musical selection should be sacred or classical in content and
reverent in style. Choices must be submitted for approval by
the Wedding Director or Office Administrator.
All
participants in the wedding should be dressed in harmony with
general Seventh-day Adventist principles of taste, modesty,
and appropriateness.
No
wedding arrangements or preparations are to be made on
Sabbath. Saturday night rehearsal should start 30 minutes
after sundown or later.
Music
Inasmuch as a wedding is a service of worship, it is expected
that all music will be in keeping with the standards of
Christian worship, placing emphasis on the glorification of
God. some music that is very appropriate for the reception
(such as popular or secular songs) may not be fitting for
worship. We suggest that you make your music selections from
religious or classical music. couples should meet with the
Wedding Director at least two months before the wedding to
submit their music for approval and before the programs are
printed.
