The Discipleship Model
was developed by Pastor Ramon M. Ulangca to organize the
vision for discipleship and ministry at Hinsdale Seventh-day
Adventist Church.
Core
or Core Ministries comprise the
innermost circle of the Discipleship Model designed to meet
the needs of individuals, families, and categories of people
bound by similar situations and circumstances. They are
generally organized by age, sex or marital status and are
primarily focused on addressing the unique challenges of each.
Congregation
or Congregational Ministries are the
middle circle of the Discipleship Model designed to address
the needs of Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church as a whole.
As such, they are not distinguished by age, sex or marital
status but rather are focused on building and strengthening
the larger body of Christ.
Community
or Community Ministries are the outer
circle of the Discipleship Model designed to build bridges of
understanding and appreciation that will help others
appreciate Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church as a vital
part of the Hinsdale community as well as assist seekers who
want to know more about Christ.
Youth
Ministry (including the Pathfinder Club) seeks not only to provide programs
and activities for young people but also to integrate them
into the life of the larger congregation. This is what will keep them growing in the church even after they
outgrow youth ministry.
Children
Ministry (including Adventurers)
thrives under the leadership of Shelley Maletin. Children's
Sabbath Schools, Vacation Bible School, and special children's
events all fall under this umbrella.
