The Pastoral Partners
Program of Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church is a
systematic yet flexible care network designed to provide
coordinated support and connection for every member of our
congregation. It organizes the membership into care groups of
five units (individuals, couples or families) and matches them
up with a trained Pastoral Partner to help them feel
supported, encouraged and cared for in the larger church
community. In this capacity, a Pastoral Partner:
- Keeps are friendly "eye out" for members of his or her care
group.
- Maintains regular contact with the individuals in that care
group.
- Prays for and with them.
- Alerts the ministry team and/or pastors as needs are
identified.
Characteristics of a
Pastoral Partner
Do you have the
foundation for being a good Pastoral Partner? To find out, ask
yourself the following:
- Am I warm and responsive?
- Do I genuinely love people?
- Am I prepared to participate in training sessions?
- Do I attend worship at Hinsdale Seventh-day Adventist Church
regularly?
- Am I an "ordinary person" who doesn't mind playing "behind
the scenes" roles?
